Jobs and Employment - Shaffer's High Sierra Summer Camps
Nursing Jobs
Overview
Shaffer's High Sierra Summer Camp offers children 8 to 17 a traditional summer
camp experience but with a focus on noncompetitive wilderness adventure activities
in California's splendid Tahoe National Forest. (Go to our Home
page to read more.) We are positioned somewhere between a posh traditional camp and a
rugged wilderness survivalist camp.
The Camp staffs its two-bed Health Center with a doctor, nurse practitioner, or a registered nurse. Primary duties include camper check-in, administering medications, being on-call for first aid, and record keeping. You generally have at least two hours per day for recreation or to just relax in a beautiful setting. Though we prefer longer commitments, it may be possible to work with us for as short as just one week.
Openings
As of May 20, 2011, we have no openings for Health Center professionals.
Pay
The salary is $600 per week, including training. A trade is possible for up to two camp-age children. You will have your own room in the health center.
Requirements
We look for people who are mature, responsible, and love kids. You must hold a California medical license. See our job description for a more complete description of duties. (You will need Adobe Acrobat to read the job description; you may download a FREE copy.)
