Overview
Shaffer's High Sierra Camp offers children 8 to 17 a traditional summer camp
experience but with a focus on noncompetitive wilderness adventure activities
in California's splendid Tahoe National Forest. (Go to our Home

Each year, the Camp needs a facilities engineer, whose primary duties will be grounds and facilities maintenance and repair, and one whose main duty is as a custodian or janitor. (Go to our facilities page to read more about the Camp facilities.)
Openings
As of May 26, 2008 we still have an opening for a chief facilities engineer.
Dates
Your start date will depend on when the snow melts and your end date will depend on outstanding projects. As a rough approximation, we think that will translate to work from mid June to mid August.
Pay
The salary is negotiable, depending upon skill and experience. Room and board are included.
Requirements
We look for people who are mature, responsible, able to operate on their own initiative, and have a strong work ethic. The following skills are desirable but not necessary: basic plumbing skills, carpentry skills, painting experience, pool maintenance experience, chain saw experience, and small engine maintenance/repair experience.
